Bill Staycheff

Bill has had the opportunity to excel in many positions in the 26 years he has been in the construction industry. Starting in 1984 as an outside salesman for Builders World he was charged to expand their operations in Summit County. Through his efforts he became the leading sales producer with annual sales consistently over a million dollars. He went on to become Vice President and then General Manager where he revamped a fledgling installation department into an award winning team of professionals.

He launched his own company, Freedom Design in June of 2002 aspiring to give Builders, Remodelers, and Consumers the finest products in the marketplace along with exceptional service that has been the trademark of his career. He opened a satellite showroom in Cuyahoga Falls in 2004 serving the needs of Summit County.

Bill is especially proud of the products Freedom Design has partnered with, such as Kraftmaid, the largest cabinet company in the country that consistently wins JD Powers Best Buy award. Building a team of professionals to service the customer’s needs is one of his greatest accomplishments.

Bruce Vonderau

Bruce has been designing award winning kitchens for some of Cleveland’s top builders and most reputable Remodelers for over 20 years. He listens to his customers and turns their ideas into creative designs. He gives each kitchen he designs its own personality, due in part to his Art major. Bruce really enjoys thinking out of the box and creates new concepts with a very open mind. Expect the unexpected.

Bruce and his wife Missy have three children and live in Parma. In their spare time they enjoy the outdoors, camping, sports and spending time with the family.

Rusty Booth

Rusty is a 20-year veteran of the design industry. He was formally trained at Kent State University and the University of Akron in Clothing Textiles/Interior Design, specializing in the Psychology and Concepts of Color. His ultimate goal is to be invited back to your home.

Rusty is very active in the Hudson United Soccer Club, where he sits on the Soccer board while his son plays for both Hudson United and Everest Soccer Clubs. His daughter is just entering her freshman year at Kent State University.

Client Testimonials

We wanted to take this chance to thank you for all of your hard work. We absolutely LOVE our kitchen and you had such a large part in that.

Remodeling is such a stressful and demanding task. Making sure our choices are ones that we will love for the long run was high on our list of stressful decisions. Your spectacular design for our space started us in the right direction. You listened to all of our plans as well as provided your own experience and expertise. All of your patience during this process truly helped to personalize our kitchen for our family.

The amount of personal attention that you gave to us was unmatched by several other professionals we worked with during our remodel. From picking our cabinets, to wall color and even flooring choices, you were always willing to help. I am not the most visual person – you were instrumental in helping me visualize concepts as we went along.

Again, we want to thank you for all that you did for us. We have such an amazing, personalized kitchen and we could not have done it without you!

We are very pleased and happy with our new kitchen made by Freedom Design. Rusty Booth, kitchen designer, did a great job at designing our kitchen. He recommended a great carpenter and also helped us pick out granite. Our cabinets are beautiful and Rusty was very helpful at helping us pick them out.

Thank You Freedom Design and Rusty.

What can I say? Even though it took a long time…I absolutely love my new kitchen. The hardware, cabinets, design, counters. Everything, I just love –

It has surpassed all of my expectations of what a new kitchen should be. It changed my whole house. My children (both boys) tell me all the time how great the new kitchen is.

My friends & family know how long I’ve waited for a new kitchen and this one is like a dream. Thank you for all of your help and assistance. I hope to do more projects with you in the future.

I've been wanting to send you a thank you note for the past two weeks, but with the hectic Christmas rush, kids home, family gatherings and restocking our fabulous brand new kitchen, I just never got around to it until tonight.

First, let me say what a pleasure it was working with you during our kitchen renovation. I can honestly say that I'll miss seeing you every morning with my daily update and reminders of the plan for the week. Your preparation provided me the time to get my painting done without interfering with the work of any of the trades and made my life much easier during the difficult time one has being without a kitchen, let alone our laundry and first floor bathroom. Somehow, you managed to go one step further by keeping my laundry room up and running all but one day during the entire renovation. Your empathy and understanding in what it takes to keep two soccer players in uniform really made my life a lot easier.

The trades that worked on my job were some of the most talented, caring and courteous I have ever encountered. I would gladly call any of them to work on my house again in a minute. They each treated my house as if they were their own. Their caring attitude is a testimony to your selection of quality minded talented workers. Furthermore, they each expressed to me their respect for you as the "best contractor they have ever worked for." That respect doesn't come easily and having worked with you for the better part of four weeks, I whole-heartedly agree with them.

Thank you again for all you did to help us through this renovation project. Both Liz and I look forward to working with you in the future on our master bathroom renovation one day soon.

Thank you so much for your invaluable help in the selection and installment of our cabinets. You made the process so easy and enjoyable. Even when we were having a difficult time making up our minds, your patience and enthusiasm never waned.

The finished product is amazing. Our kitchen is warm and inviting – just as I had hoped it would be. It all came together so beautifully! Thanks for your help in flooring and granite too. I can honestly say that you are the reason that we love our kitchen.

And last but certainly not least – thank you for your friendship. Jamie and I are so happy that we got to work with you, but feel more blessed to call you our friend.

Typically, completely renovating a kitchen originally built in 1929 sounds like it can be an overwhelming task. However, with the help of Freedom Design the process was made manageable and nearly stress-free.

Our kitchen was in need of a serious makeover, but our family could not formulate any type of consistent vision. This is where Bill Staycheff came in. With his hands on approach to our needs, he was able to create our beautiful kitchen. The in-store displays helped us to see and feel what our options were, rather than just pick a design from a catalog and cross our fingers. Computerized renderings helped us to visualize the kitchen and implement changes easily.

What’s more, we started the design from scratch and had to make selections about literally everything from the floor to the ceiling. The KraftMaid cherry cabinetry adds a new rich feel to our home. Freedom Design also helped with the selection of new doors, windows, hardware, and hardwood flooring. With its broad selection of options and expert advice, our kitchen has become the center focus of our home.

Our friendly partnership with the contractor made adding architectural features like a transom window and a glass-faced bar an easy process. Drastic reconstruction opened up our small and outdated breakfast nook and created a new customized quartz table (Cambria) with booth seating. This kitchen provides a great space for many different aspects of our lifestyle including dining, computer use, relaxation and recreation for our two sons and our extended family.

We would highly recommend choosing to work with the team at Freedom Design. Their professionalism and expertise make them the clear and right choice for your families’ big project.
